Cycle 5

Uncertainty

Amidst the shadows of our tumultuous era, a new cycle emerges, forged as we grapple with a global pandemic and the ensuing quarantine. Humanity confronts an enigma that was once confined to history's pages, a challenge unthinkable for our time. Yet, faced with the inexorable onslaught of disease, impending mortality, the veil of the unknown and unfamiliar, the world undergoes a metamorphosis. Strands of existence entwine, unveiling latent facets of the soul that had long gone unnoticed. Some radiate empathy and sagacity, faith and optimism, while others morph into unforeseen embodiments of irritability, calculation, and bitterness, forsaking trust and conviction. In this epoch of upheaval, a series of artworks takes form, capturing the image of a colossal anthropomorphic figure. This entity is no ordinary being; it personifies the great unknown. Perhaps it's a wandering soul, adrift amidst the masses, in search of a path, an escape, a purpose. The canvas transforms into a portal to an enigmatic realm, inviting each viewer to connect with its essence. Concluding this cycle, I present the installation "Home Beyond Home," where two spheres intertwine: the celestial expanse above and the human domain below. The luminous glow of the domed lamp reflects the sun or the cosmos, an ethereal realm. The tranquil blue oval mirrors the sky, while the circular apertures serve as conduits between the celestial and terrestrial realms. Bound together, these elements encapsulate.
